Hot on the heels of the launch of our new website we thought it was high time to start introducing some of our hard-working team. So where better to start than our leading lady – the lovely Anne Davies.    

 Having graduated from the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside Anne pursued a career in sales and marketing, involving design and development for customised retail display units although she had always harboured a real desire to run her own business.

  Initially she put her energies into developing a bespoke product for the fitness industry. This involved producing an exclusively designed, high-end product at an affordable price, including sourcing material and manufacturing partners from the Far East. The time and energy this continued to require became impractical when family arrived. So at this point, Anne started to look at other opportunities that allowed her additional time with her daughter and the potential to be more home-based.

 The rest as they say is history, as Anne started to work with Room to Grow to develop their online presence in a period of great change for this tight knit family business. 

With unprecedented migration of customers online, consumer buying habits were changing at alarming rates and the decision to concentrate the business online rather than high street was the right way to go.

 Anne said:-

 “The more I worked in the business, the more the opportunities presented themselves. I loved the products and being purely on line meant we could offer extended choices of quality products – whilst still continuing to develop our ranges.

 Although we no longer met customers face to face, we had more time to deal with individual enquiries and were quickly able to direct people to huge choice of relevant images and descriptions rather than trawling through pages and pages of back catalogues.”

 The final step for Anne she describes as an easy one to take.

 “Investing in the business was a purely logical one. To improve the online offering was the marketing challenge I relished, providing the opportunity to translate my vision of the business into a real customer proposition. It’s been hard work but we’ve also had great fun doing it, starting with our woodland photoshoot 

with friends and family. We continue to build a really strong team to support and develop our offering both in terms of brand partners and keeping our customer communications up to the mark. The only slight worry is my daughter seems to have a re-design for her bedroom every week – it’s lucky she just cannot make up her mind for now!”
