We all know that life changes after we have children. Just stand in the playground for a few minutes and you will probably hear parents talking about lack of sleep and lack of a social life.

But sometimes it’s the little things that you can’t understand until you have children, the things that you just take for granted pre-children and you will never realise how much you took them for granted later. Here are just 5 things you can’t understand until you have children.

    1. You can’t eat anything without sharing it with at least one child. It doesn’t matter what it is if a child sees it they will want it!

    1. No matter how many times you tell your child to pick up all the LEGO, you will discover that they haven’t with your bare feet! If you’ve every stood on LEGO you will understand the pain in this statement!

    1. When you ask your child what they have done today, or what they have eaten for lunch you will invariably hear “I can’t remember” more often than you hear about their day.

    1. You will turn up to work with toothpaste, food or snot on your clothes regularly. Even when you’ve checked what you are wearing. I never know how it has happened!

    1. Just how much mess a child can make with just one chocolate button! Seriously, how big are those things?

Personally, I find every time I sit down one of my children will need either something to eat or drink or the bathroom. EVERY single time!

Can you add anything to the list?
