We’re not sure about you but one of our favourite parts of the day is bedtime. After a busy day at home or work, this is a time to relax and unwind as well as sharing a special moment with your child and enjoying a bedtime story. Whether you curl up on the sofa or next to your little one’s bed, everyone has their story place!
Here we share with you our top 5 bedtime stories, some old time favourites and some new…
Guess how much I love you
The iconic phrase. ‘I love you to the moon and back’ comes from the family picture book ‘Guess how much I love you’. This heart felt story is of Little Nut-brown Hare and Big Nut-brown Hare and how they describe their love for each other. We recommended tucking your youngster into a Wonderland High End Panel bed and taking it in turns to read a page to one another.
Alice in Wonderland
Why not go on an enchanting adventure to Wonderland next bedtime and enjoy the story of the British classic ‘Alice in Wonderland’? This may be a little longer than your typical bedtime story, however it gives you a chance to follow Alice on her journey each night chapter at a time.
The Tale of Peter Rabbit
Any book written and illustrated by Beatrix Potter is a favourite of ours, however we have to say that The Tale of Peter Rabbit is our most loved. This book follows the story of young Peter Rabbit, the most mischievous and cheeky rabbit of his brothers and sisters, who finds himself being chased around the garden of grumpy Mr McGregor. If you have a cheeky chappy, this will have them giggling away and wondering what’s going to happen next – just make sure he’s lying comfortably in his Rainbow bed first…
It was hard to pick just one of our favourite Roald Dahl books but after much deliberation here at Ollie & Leila HQ, we had to go with The BFG. This story isn’t scary enough to give you nightmares, however it will keep your little one on their toes! Transform the story to your child’s bedroom with our original Star Snuggle Sac.
There IS such thing as a Gruffalo and is told in this beautifully illustrated story book written by Julia Donaldson. Not only are the pictures great to look at, your child will also enjoy the funny rhymes that are shared throughout the story. Once you’ve finished the Gruffalo, we highly recommended reading some more of Julia Donaldson’s stories, such as Stick Man and Monkey Puzzle.
