Loft beds are beds that are raised high off the floor with a ladder to climb up to sleeping height. They are the tallest of all elevated beds and are great space savers. Safety standards recommend that loft and high beds are suitable for children aged 6 and over.
Loft beds are structurally safe when constructed and assembled properly and in line with safety guidelines. All loft beds should comply with safety regulations EN747 and as long as safety instructions are followed and children avoid playing at height, they are safe.
The main advantage of a loft bed is that they maximise floor space as they provide a large amount of space underneath for storage, desks and sofas. You can also easily utilise the underbed area of a raised bed for sleepovers by adding a bunk bed frame and more kids mattresses.
